I forgot the press releases.

I forgot to include the press releases in the previous post. It has already made the Traveler and I expect it to be in the Aug. Chamber of Commerce Forward. First mailing will go tommorrow and the rest by Monday. Besides the material from alternative sources, I have pulled and read a bunch of ACF Journal articles. And I listened to a phone conference held by Condor Financing.
I still have more of the reference materials to read and I really need to do the calculator practices.

5 weeks

It has been 5 weeks since I took the training. I am still trying to get through all the materials. I have had summer theatre class the last two weeks and several returns to do. I want to have letters out prospective referal souces by next Monday. I am using this blog as a journal and commentary so here is the journal part.
I have gotten done:

• Got the domain name and designed a web site


• Sent out letters to my bankers to explain what I am doing


• Put together 6 mailing lists for referals


• Printed business cards, need to do more


• Printed postcards for specific clients


• Searched the internet and found a bunch of alternative information sources


• Took a "free course" by email


• Watched three of the DVDs and will go back to the fourth to prep for the next project.


• Checked the legal info ACFC gives us

Once I have the letters out, I need to start working on scripts and FAQs.

Treading water

Right now with drama class going and some tax/book work, I have not done a whole lot with cash flow. I am checking with my lawyer about what I can and can't do legally. AFCA gives me a basic idea but I wanted to check. My goal is to have letters out by the end of the month. I also have a lot of materials to finish read.

Not a quick thing

The realities of this business are beginning to show up. I subscribed to a free notes class that was mostly sales pitch and personal testifying. There were enough tips and insights to make the time worthwhile. The overriding thing is that this is not a quick fix but a long term project. It has been 3 weeks since class and the mailing group from the class has consisted of the original set up and corrections to the list. There have only been a couple other post. I did one about the ichapter group and one other lady talking about a deal she was working on with her husband.
It would be interesting to get with the class in 6 months and see what is going on and what people have done. And why they didn't do a note yet.
May-be I'll write a book.

Letters

I am starting to get the letters announcing McIntire Funding Center out. I did send a letter to the two bankers I work with most explaining what I am doing. I thought it would be a good curtesy. I really don't want them to think that I am trying to be a bank and muscle in on their turf. I would much rather work with them and that will not happen if they think I am taking business away from them.
