Leads

Now is the hard part of the Expoventure. As much work the planning, set up, and day were, the hard part if following up on the business card and other leads. I have the letterhead and the letter is written. Now I just have to print out the letters and stuff them with business cards and the flyers. That is for the people who stopped by the booth. The next step is the other cards I picked up. And the business brokers I keep getting mailings from.

Chapter meeting

I attended the Wichita ACFC chapter meeting on Sunday. It was a good experience. I volunteered to help with the web site. It was also nice to see that I was ahead of the curve in getting to a first deal to go through. I like the Sunday meetings and the group seems to be a nice mix of people and expereince.

Expo recovery

The Expoventure on Thusday was an interesting experience. I have a stack of business cards to go through and start following up on leads. I did get another probably no go. And some long term maybes.
I did learn a bunch should I chose to do it next year. There were three other CCFC's visiting the booths. They probably will come out better but I had the advantage of a visual presence.
The worse part is how tired I am still. A lot of my notes for next year are based in comfort. I was very glad that I took the chair pad and extra shoes. Next year I will take a comfy chair and not do as many materials. I would like to get everything in a wheeled cart.
Now the follow up.

Another one falls through

Another deal just fell through. This one would have been really nice but the client - potential client - was shopping and found a better deal. So far the Yahoo and Google ads are the best at drawing people but hopefully, the Expoventure will help. Once that is done, I will figure out the next step. I still have one deal pending but it will be at least a week before I will know anything. May-be someone will have an idea at the support group on Sunday.

Near Misses

I keep getting near misses and it is frustrating. The week before last I got a call from someone wanting lawsuit financing and acted as a referrer. But I am assuming that it was a no go since I haven't heard anything. On Friday, just before closing, I got a call about a large mortgage note and wrote it up and set it on. So far I haven't heard on it but I got the feeling that the seller was just "kicking tires". May-be the Expoventure next week will help. I will be happier once I get a deal to go through..
